Tuning & Pitch Raises/Pitch Corrections (click for pricing & details)
Tuning ($150)
We typically tune pianos to A440, except in cases where the customer requests a different pitch or tuning to A440 is not possible due to the age and/or condition of the piano. We can also tune your piano to a “floating” pitch, which is when the piano is tuned to (or close to) the pitch it is currently at instead of tuning exactly to A440 – this is believed to result in a more stable tuning and may be ideal for those who don’t play by ear or play with other instrumentalists at home.
Recommended frequency: every 6 months
Pitch Corrections/Pitch Raises ($50 per pitch raise – does not include cost of fine-tuning)
Pianos that haven’t been tuned in a long time often need what is called a pitch correction (also called a “pitch raise”) in addition to a standard tuning in order for the piano to actually stay in tune. Essentially, it’s a pre-tuning where the piano is tuned above the desired pitch for each note so when the strings settle, they end up at or near the desired pitch. The pitch correction will then be followed by a fine-tuning of the piano. When a piano is around 10 cents (or more) off pitch, a pitch raise will usually be needed to ensure a more stable tuning and lessen the risk of broken strings. If your piano hasn’t been tuned in the last ~12 months, a pitch raise will likely be needed. In more extreme cases, multiple pitch corrections may be necessary to reach a stable tuning.

On-site Repairs (cost varies by job)
We are able to do most minor repairs that do not require taking the piano off-site. Examples include replacing a broken string, fixing and/or replacing damaged or worn out action parts, and making adjustments to keys that don’t play right. Smaller jobs can often be done when we’re already on-site to perform another service. More involved repairs may require a separate visit.
Since we do not have a dedicated workshop, we are unable to perform major repairs that require taking the piano off-site, such as complete restringing, pin block replacement, refurbishment, rebuilding, or restoration.
Recommended frequency: as needed

Climate Control System Installation & Servicing (click for details)
We are certified by the Dampp-Chaser Corporation to install Piano Life Saver climate control systems. This means that any installations done by us are covered by Dampp-Chaser’s 5-year limited parts warranty.
Installation (cost varies)
Since the needs of every piano are a bit different, Dampp-Chaser offers a number of systems varying in size and complexity. Therefore, the cost to install a climate control system is dependent on factors such as the piano’s design, size, and environment.
It will take your piano about 3 weeks to acclimate to the system. We recommend having your piano tuned no sooner than 3 weeks after an installation (tuning is not included in the installation cost).
Routine Servicing ($25)
This service is highly recommended to ensure that your Piano Life Saver system is working properly. A typical servicing includes inspecting the climate control system for proper operation, replacing the humidifier pads, and cleaning parts when necessary. Please note that this does not include the cost to replace any part(s) of the system that are found to be no longer working.
Recommended frequency: every 6-12 months when the piano is tuned
